Make an entry for the Web host in the

/etc/hosts

file

The Web server may not start if you do not have the fully qualified path name

to your Web server host in the /etc/hosts file. Verify that an entry for your host

exists; for example:

12.34.56.78 my_host.my_domain.com

Start the Apache Web server

1 Set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable in the shell used to

start the Apache Web Server to include APACHE_HOME/libexec.

2Run:

./apachectl start

❖ Verifying that the redirector plug-in works correctly

1 Verify that all the required libraries are copied to the libexec subdirectory

of the Apache installation directory.

2 Verify that the conn_config file exists in the Apache configuration

directory.
