Subscribing to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced
Platform for SAP applications channel
At this point, you have installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux. To
complete installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform for
SAP applications, you need to subscribe to the Red Hat Enterprise
Linux Advanced Platform for SAP applications channel.
1. Using a browser, log into RHN.
2. On the Your RHN page, select Systems.
3. On the System Overview page, select the system you just
registered.
4. On the page for your system, select the Software tab, and
select Software Channels.
5. Scroll down to the Channel Entitlement section of the page
and select Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform for
SAP applications (v.5 for 64-bit x86_64). Click Change
Subscriptions.
6. On your server, use the command yum repolist to verify
that the subscription was successful.
7. Use these commands to install the following packages:
To install the IBM JDK, type yum install java-1.4.2-
ibm*
If you are running a non-unicode SAP system, make
sure to install the additional locales with adapted sort
orders as well. Type yum install compat-locales-
sap-common.noarch
