This update enables Compute to snapshot a GlusterFS volume on

behalf of Block Storage. The snapshot operation is initiated by

the user through Block Storage, using the same method as other

volume types. Consequently, Block Storage involves Compute to

complete aspects of the snapshot process.

With this update, Dashboard users are automatically logged out of

a period of inactivity. This period is set to 30 minutes by

default.

Hypervisor information is now available in Dashboard's Admin

dashboard. A new 'Hypervisor' panel provides information on

existing Compute nodes, including Host, Type, and vCPU.

Instances can now be created in preferred cells. Previously, the

cell scheduler would select a destination at random from known

cells. Filters and weights can now be defined by administrators to

direct builds to a particular cell. The keys

scheduler_filter_classes and scheduler_filter_classes are

configured under the cells group in nova.conf.

The new weights and filters available:

ram_by_instance_type: Select cells with the most capacity for the

instance type being requested.

weight_offset: Modifies the DB to weight a particular cell. Also

useful for disabling a cell.

mute_child: Assigns negative weight to cells that have not sent an

update to their parent cell.

target_cell: Specifies a scheduler.

Custom quotas defined for tenants and users can now be reverted

back to the default. The Compute client recognises the new syntax:

nova quota-delete --tenant <tenant-id>

nova quota-delete --user <user-id>

Previously, it was not possible to specify which address should be

associated with the instance's floating IP address.

With this enhancement, users are able to specify the fixed IP

address that a floating IP should be mapped to.
